CD Tenerife Femenino have extended Jenni López’s contract and sent her on loan to Granada for the 2026/27 season.
The Lanzarote-born centre-back will remain under contract with Tenerife but spend the coming campaign at Granada, where she will seek the regular Liga F football that was unavailable during her first year on the island. Tenerife have not disclosed the length of her new deal.
López joined the club in the summer of 2025 after two seasons with Atlético Madrid B. She made 21 appearances, including 20 starts, and played 1,797 minutes for Tenerife B in Primera Federación last season. She also trained regularly with the first team.
Her only senior appearance for Tenerife came on the final day of the Liga F campaign. The defender played the closing 13 minutes against Deportivo at the Estadio Heliodoro Rodríguez López as Tenerife ended their season with a 2-0 victory and a fourth-place finish.
That was not her top-flight debut, however.
López had already played three Liga F matches for Real Betis during the 2022/23 season. She made her debut as a starter against Badalona in September 2022, faced the same opponents again in March and completed 90 minutes against Levante on the final day. She has so far made four top-flight appearances, totalling 194 minutes.
Born in Lanzarote on 4 August 2004, López developed at Orientación Marítima before moving through Puerto del Carmen, Tacuense and Real Unión de Tenerife. She left the Canary Islands to join Betis in 2022 and signed for Atlético Madrid B one year later, remaining there until her move to Tenerife.
She will now return to Andalusia to join Adrián Martín’s project. Granada had already recruited ten players from other clubs this summer and promoted Vera Molina from their reserve team as part of an extensive squad rebuild.
The move gives Granada a young centre-back with considerable Primera Federación experience. Tenerife, meanwhile, keep her under contract while giving her the opportunity to pursue regular top-flight football.
