Antônia Silva is returning to Brazil after seven years.
Real Madrid and Palmeiras have reached an agreement for the transfer of the 32-year-old defender. Neither club has disclosed the fee or the length of her new contract.
The Brazil international leaves Spanish football after arriving in 2019 to join Madrid CFF. She subsequently represented Levante and Real Madrid.
In total, Antônia made 107 appearances and scored two goals in the Spanish top flight.
Two seasons with Real Madrid
Real Madrid signed Antônia in the summer of 2024 after her two seasons with Levante.
The defender arrived injured following her participation with Brazil at the Paris Olympics and did not make her debut until 17 October. She came on in the 76th minute of the 4-0 Women’s Champions League victory over Celtic.
During her first season, she made 19 Liga F appearances and played 1,260 minutes.
Her involvement was significantly reduced during the following campaign. A muscle injury suffered early in the season kept her out for several months and limited her to four league appearances and 179 minutes.
Antônia leaves Real Madrid after making 23 Liga F appearances without scoring.
Palmeiras add a Brazil international
Antônia can play at right-back or centre-back.
The Riacho de Santana native began her career in futsal before switching to the 11-a-side game. She represented Ponte Preta, Audax, Iranduba and São Paulo before moving to Spain.
She won the Copa Libertadores with Audax in 2017 and was named the Brazilian league’s best defender in both 2018 and 2019.
Antônia has represented Brazil at senior level since 2017 and won the Copa América in 2022 and 2025. She also appeared at the 2023 World Cup and won a silver medal at the Paris Olympics.
She now returns to her country to join Palmeiras, who have listed her as both a centre-back and right-back.
Her time in Spain ends after seven years, three clubs and 107 Liga F appearances.
