Liga F has moved the first Madrid derby of the season.
Real Madrid v Atlético de Madrid, scheduled until now for Saturday 29 August at 19:00, will be played on Sunday 30 August at 21:00.
The league announced the change on Thursday on its official account, on a graphic headed with the word “Actualización”.
The reason had been set down in advance. The derby was one of two matches the league marked with an asterisk when it published the opening kick-off times on 3 August, “subject to possible changes because of UEFA competition commitments”. The other, Real Sociedad v Logroño United, keeps its Saturday slot at 12:00.
And Real Madrid’s European commitment comes first: on Wednesday 26 August they visit Ajax in the first leg of the Champions League third qualifying round, with the return on 2 September.
The updated graphic no longer marks either match: matchday one is left without asterisks.
The start of the season is untouched. Liga F will still begin on Saturday 29 August at 12:00, with Deportivo Abanca v Sevilla and Real Sociedad v Logroño United kicking off together.
What changes is the end of the weekend. The round used to close with Barcelona v Costa Adeje Tenerife on Sunday at 19:00; now the derby closes it, two hours later. The split moves from five matches on Saturday and three on Sunday to four and four.

Matchday two stretches into Monday
Half an hour after the update, Liga F published the matchday two fixtures. They are spread across three days: Saturday 5, Sunday 6 and Monday 7 September.
Granada v Real Sociedad at 19:30 is the only Monday fixture in the opening two rounds.
Costa Adeje Tenerife v Deportivo Abanca on the Sunday is the only match flagged on the graphic, and its asterisk has nothing to do with UEFA: 13:00 is mainland time, so in Tenerife the match will kick off at 12:00.

These eight do carry a warning: the matchday two graphic notes at the foot that its kick-off times may still change. The matchday one graphic no longer says so.
