Real Madrid are pressing ahead with the overhaul of their squad for the 2026/27 season. The club have officially announced the signing of Dutch forward Lineth Beerensteyn, who joins on a contract that ties her to Real Madrid for the next three seasons, until 30 June 2029.
Beerensteyn, 29, arrives in the Spanish capital as a free agent after the end of her spell at VfL Wolfsburg in the German Bundesliga. The forward, a Netherlands international, brings pace, physical power and European experience to the attack led by Pau Quesada.

Born in The Hague in 1996, Beerensteyn boasts a solid grounding in the elite of the women’s game on the continent. She came through and made her debut at ADO Den Haag and spent a season at Twente before stepping up to Bayern Munich in 2017. Across five seasons in Bavaria she won the 2021 Bundesliga title. In the summer of 2022 she signed for Juventus, where she spent two campaigns and registered 22 goals in 66 appearances, as well as playing in the Champions League group stage.
Her most recent chapter, at Wolfsburg, was perhaps the most telling: over two seasons she scored 34 goals in more than forty matches and finished as the Bundesliga’s top scorer in 2024/25. There she confirmed her ability to operate both as a focal point in the box and out wide, a versatile profile that fits a range of attacking systems.
At international level, Beerensteyn has been a regular for the Oranje since 2016. She was part of the squad that won the 2017 European Championship on home soil and the one that reached the final of the 2019 World Cup in France, and she also played at the Tokyo Olympics.
The summer’s third signing
Beerensteyn’s arrival makes her Real Madrid’s third official signing of the new project, following the announcements of German midfielder Elisa Senß and Portugal’s Andreia Jacinto. The Valdebebas offices have been notably busy early this summer with one clear aim: to close the gap on FC Barcelona in Liga F and to establish themselves in the group stage of the Champions League.
The signing answers the need to add a cutting edge and dribbling threat to an attack hit by departures in recent weeks — among them Naomi Feller, bound for Paris Saint-Germain. Her free transfer represents a top-tier piece of business for a Real Madrid side eager to take a decisive step forward in Europe.
