DUX disappears from Logroño as the club becomes Logroño United

The Riojan club has unveiled a new name, crest and motto after five years linked to the esports brand. The new identity places the city at the heart of the project and completes the transformation begun by the current ownership.

DUX Logroño are now Logroño United.

The Riojan club have unveiled the new institutional and sporting identity under which they will compete from the 2026/27 season. The change includes a new name, crest, colours and motto, bringing an end to the five years in which the team was linked to the DUX Gaming brand.

The new name is intended to place Logroño at the heart of the project. According to the club, the word United represents the bond between the ownership, the squad, the supporters, the institutions and everyone else connected to the organisation.

This is not simply a change of lettering.

The new crest breaks with the identity inherited from DUX and draws on the history and landscape of the city. Its central element is the Saint Andrew’s Cross that appears on the flag of Logroño. It is accompanied by an image of the Fourth Bridge over the Ebro, located near the club’s training facilities at La Isla in Logroño.

Red, burgundy and gold complete an identity presented under the motto “History drives us forward.”

The creative process takes its inspiration from the siege of Logroño in 1521 and the collective resistance of a city that chose to stand against a larger army. The club now wants that story of unity, resilience and determination to shape its new sporting project.

The transformation had been in preparation for several months.

In November 2025, the ownership had already publicly acknowledged its intention to remove the word DUX and develop an identity of its own. Internacional de Logroño was considered at the time, a name intended to combine local roots with the club’s ambitions beyond Spain.

The final choice was Logroño United.

To understand the significance of the change, it is necessary to go back to 2021. The team were still competing as EDF Logroño when DUX Gaming entered the project. The club then adopted the name DUX Logroño, the esports company’s crest and its black-and-white colours.

The deal was presented as a pioneering partnership between esports and women’s football. DUX was associated with prominent names including DjMaRiiO, Thibaut Courtois and Borja Iglesias, and argued that its communication reach could provide greater visibility for the Riojan team.

The change, however, coincided with the club’s relegation. DUX Logroño began their new era in the second tier and needed four seasons to return to Liga F. Promotion arrived in 2025 and, one year later, the team secured their place in the top flight.

By then, the project had already changed hands.

The ownership transition that began towards the end of 2024 opened a different chapter. The new owners acquired the La Isla sports facilities, reorganised the club’s structure and increased their investment as the team won promotion and established themselves in Liga F.

They also began gradually distancing the club from the identity inherited from DUX.

Logroño United now completes that separation. The club will no longer present itself through the name of an external company and has adopted a brand built around the city it represents.

It will be the third identity of a team that began as EDF Logroño, became DUX Logroño in 2021 and will start the 2026/27 season under a new name.

Captain Isabel Corte represented the squad at the presentation and expressed the players’ commitment to the values the new crest is intended to embody: effort, resilience, unity and commitment.

The change is already reflected across the club’s channels and by the competition, which now identifies the team as Logroño United ahead of the new season.

The club have left an external brand behind and are attempting to make the name of the city the centre of their identity. The next step will be to ensure that Logroño United become more than a new crest and develop into an institution recognisable in its own right.
