Barcelona have broken their own spending record to sign Kerolin.
The club have announced the arrival of the 26-year-old Brazil forward from Manchester City. Kerolin has signed until 2030 and becomes Barça’s fourth addition ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Neither club has disclosed the transfer fee. Sky Sports and SER Catalunya put the deal at €1.5 million, while AS reported a figure closer to €1.2 million.
Either amount would make Kerolin the most expensive signing in the history of Barça’s women’s team and more than double any previous outlay by the club.
The Brazilian was still under contract with Manchester City until June 2028. Barcelona therefore had to reach an agreement with the English club for a player who still had two years remaining on her deal.
Ten goals and five assists for Manchester City
Kerolin arrives after completing her first full season in England.
The forward made 19 appearances in all competitions during the 2025/26 campaign, scoring ten goals and providing five assists. Nine of those goals and all five assists came in 897 Women’s Super League minutes: she registered a direct goal contribution every 64 minutes.
Her most notable performance was a hat-trick in Manchester City’s 5-1 victory over Chelsea. Kerolin helped City win their first league title since 2016 and also lift the FA Cup.
She can start on the right wing, move inside or operate closer to goal. Her arrival adds acceleration, dribbling and one-on-one ability to an attack rebuilding following Salma Paralluelo’s departure this summer.
Barcelona’s fourth signing
Barça’s transfer business had begun at the back.
The club first signed goalkeeper Tyler McCamey before strengthening the defence with Renee van Asten and Martina Fernández. Kerolin is their fourth addition and the first specifically intended to reinforce the attack.
The Brazilian already knows Liga F. She made 24 league appearances and scored five goals for Madrid CFF before leaving for North Carolina Courage in January 2022.
Her career since that first spell in Spain saw her become the first South American to be named NWSL MVP, win an Olympic silver medal and become an English champion.
Kerolin arrived at Madrid CFF in 2021 looking for an opportunity to start again.
Five years later, she returns as the most expensive signing in Barça Women’s history.
