FC Badalona Women have scored four goals in each of their last three matches.
Espanyol have just recorded their first victory of pre-season.
The two sides meet at 19:00 on Saturday at the Ciutat Esportiva Dani Jarque. The friendly will serve as a rehearsal for their Liga F matchday two fixture at the same venue.
Twelve goals in three matches
Badalona began their preparations with a 1–2 defeat by Montpellier on 1 August.
Since then, they have scored four times in every match.
They beat Bristol City 4–2 on 6 August and repeated that scoreline against Villarreal the following day. Villarreal lost last season’s promotion play-off final to Valencia.
Their third victory came against Saudi club Al-Qadsiah on Wednesday. Badalona won 4–1 to take their tally to 12 goals across their last three matches.
Marc Ballester’s side have scored 13 goals and conceded seven in four warm-up fixtures overall, according to the results compiled by Liga F.
The trip to Espanyol will be the first of two Catalan derbies in Badalona’s final two pre-season matches. They will then face Barcelona B on Saturday 22 August, according to the club’s schedule.
Espanyol recorded their first victory on Wednesday
Espanyol began their friendly schedule with a 1–1 draw against Costa Adeje Tenerife. The Canary Islands side then won the penalty shootout 4–3.
Their second outing ended in a 2–1 defeat by Olympique Marseille. The French side led by two goals at half-time and Natalia Escot pulled one back in the 65th minute, but Sara Monforte’s team were unable to complete the comeback.
Espanyol’s first victory arrived at the Dani Jarque on Wednesday. They beat CE Europa 2–0 and kept their first clean sheet of pre-season.
After hosting Badalona, Espanyol will complete their friendly schedule against Villarreal at the same training ground on Friday 21 August.
The fixture will be repeated on matchday two
Saturday’s match will not be the only Espanyol–Badalona fixture staged at the Dani Jarque over the coming weeks.
The two sides will meet again at 18:30 on Saturday 5 September, this time with Liga F points at stake on matchday two.
The friendly will give both teams an opportunity to test their squads and early tactical ideas against an opponent they will face again just 21 days later.
Espanyol and Badalona kick off at 19:00 on Saturday. At the time of publication, neither club’s official schedule listed a broadcast for the match.
