Mariana Silva makes the leap from Santa Fe to Madrid CFF at 18

The Colombia Under-20 international is the club's sixth signing and the youngest addition of the summer. She was part of Colombia's squad at the 2024 Under-17 World Cup and is preparing for the Under-20 World Cup in Poland, which begins in September.

Madrid CFF have announced the signing of Mariana Silva ahead of the 2026/27 season.

The Colombian attacking midfielder arrives from Independiente Santa Fe. The Madrid club have not disclosed the length of her contract.

Born in Bogotá on 21 August 2007, Silva joined Santa Fe’s development programme in 2023 after previously playing for Gol Star. She progressed to the first team and competed in Colombia’s top flight over the past two seasons.

Her last goal for Las Leonas came on 28 March. Silva opened the scoring in a 2-1 victory over América de Cali, who had not yet lost in that edition of the championship.

Silva has also progressed through Colombia’s youth national teams.

She scored twice against Argentina at the 2024 South American Under-17 Championship and helped Colombia qualify for the World Cup in the Dominican Republic. She was subsequently selected for the tournament.

Two years later, Silva has established herself with the Under-20s. She competed at the South American Championship in Paraguay, where Colombia secured a place at the World Cup in Poland, and started July’s friendlies against the United States and England.

The World Cup will be played from 5 to 27 September. Colombia have not yet announced their final squad, but Silva has been involved throughout their preparations. Her potential participation could delay her availability for Madrid CFF during the opening weeks of the Liga F season.

Silva is the club’s sixth summer signing after Ana González, Débora Bebê, Kate Taylor, Emilie Holt and Romane Lejeune. She is also the youngest of the six and the fifth to arrive aged 22 or under.
