Kautar Azraf has never played in Liga F.
At eighteen, she is one victory away from qualifying for the World Cup.
Before arriving at this Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, her entire senior club experience amounted to one season with Barcelona B in Primera Federación.
Morocco started her in their first two matches of the tournament.
From Manresa to La Masia
Azraf was born in Manresa on 3 January 2008.
She began playing in boys’ teams and joined CF Igualada at the age of ten. Barcelona brought her into La Masia one year later.
She progressed through the academy before joining the reserve team during the 2025/26 season.
Barcelona B won Primera Federación but could not be promoted to Liga F because of their status as a reserve side.
It was Azraf’s first season in senior football.
Her international career moved faster than her club career.
Azraf represented Spain at under-15 and under-16 level and also played for Morocco’s youth teams.
At sixteen, she competed at the 2024 Under-20 World Cup, where she was the youngest player at the entire tournament. She came off the bench against Paraguay and started against the United States and Spain.
One year later, she captained Morocco at the Under-17 World Cup staged in their own country. The team progressed from the group stage and reached the round of 16.
Two starts at her first WAFCON
Azraf received her first senior call-up in 2026 and made her debut during a 3-0 victory over Tanzania in April.
Three months later, she became the youngest player in Morocco’s squad for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
She was not there merely to make up the numbers.
Azraf started and played the full ninety minutes of the 4-0 victory over Kenya. She remained in the starting line-up against Algeria and stayed on the pitch until stoppage time as Morocco won 1-0.
She did not feature in the goalless draw against Senegal that completed the group stage.
Morocco finished top with seven points and did not concede a goal.
They face South Africa in Rabat on Saturday. The winners will advance to the semi-finals and qualify directly for the 2027 World Cup in Brazil.
When the tournament ends, Azraf will return to a club that remains in Primera Federación.
She could do so with Morocco qualified for the World Cup before playing a single minute in the top flight.
