Henar Muiña Asla · Gijón (Asturias), 20 October 1999 · 1.67 m
Position: midfielder · Shirt number: 4 · Club: Deportivo Abanca (since 2022)
Senior career: Oviedo Moderno CF / Real Oviedo Femenino (2015–2020, developed at the club from childhood) → CD Parquesol (2020/21) → CDE Racing Féminas (2021/22) → Deportivo Abanca
2025/26: 16 matches and 754 minutes in Liga F, according to the competition’s official data.
The story of Henar Muiña begins with a precocity that would startle anyone today: developed from childhood in Asturian football at Oviedo Moderno, she made her top-flight debut at just 15, sharing a midfield with former Deportivo player Iris Arnáiz. In that first season she played 23 matches and scored a goal. She was not a prospect to be protected; she was a footballer who could no longer be left out.
What came next was the long road — the one most players take and almost nobody recounts. After Oviedo Moderno’s relegation, she spent several seasons in the second tier with the Asturian club, by then renamed Real Oviedo Femenino. She then played a year at Parquesol in Valladolid and another at Racing Féminas. In 2022, Deportivo went looking for her in that league where the players who hold teams together are forged.
And they got it right. Henar became the balance of the blue-and-white midfield and one of the pieces of the promotion to Liga F in 2024. Her performances also earned an especially meaningful recognition: her own fellow professionals voted her the best player in Primera Federación FutFem for the 2023/24 season at the AFE Awards. The club renewed her contract until 2027.
Her return to the elite with Dépor, in the 2024/25 season, began with an injury sustained during the Teresa Herrera Trophy. She came back weeks later and ended up scoring her first goal as a Deportivo player in Adeje: a shot from the edge of the box that found the corner of the Costa Adeje Tenerife goal. The A Coruña press compared her return to that of a phoenix.
The following season she ran into another serious injury. In December 2025, with eleven matches played, she suffered a problem in the proximal tendon of her right hamstring that kept her off the pitch for at least twelve weeks. Even so, she closed the campaign with 16 appearances in Liga F and as one of the footballers chosen to wear the Deportivo Abanca armband.
Henar Muiña will not appear on any shortlists of candidates for anything. She appears on a different list: that of the footballers who let a coach sleep soundly. In a Dépor that has managed to settle into the elite, that role is not a secondary one. It is the difference between a team and a collection of names.
