Henar Muiña has begun the journey from the final chapter of her time in Galicia to a new challenge in Tenerife.
The Asturian midfielder was officially unveiled as a Costa Adeje Tenerife player for the 2026/27 season after leaving Deportivo Abanca and joining a project where she hopes to continue developing and take on a prominent role in midfield.
“My first few days settling in have been very positive. I have come to the island to play my part, give everything I have and help the club achieve its objectives,” she said during her first appearance as a Tenerife player.
Her arrival opens a new chapter in the career of a footballer whose journey, from her first steps in Asturias to establishing herself at Deportivo, FemGol has already explored in depth.
Henar arrives in Tenerife at the age of 24 after establishing herself in the top flight of Spanish football. Her signing gives Yerai Martín a midfielder capable of providing balance without the ball, competing strongly in duels and contributing to the organisation of the team’s play.
Jordi Torres, the club’s sporting director, highlighted that combination of qualities.
“She is primarily a defensive midfielder, but she can also organise the game. I believe she will become an important player in midfield and bring authority to that area of the pitch,” he said.
The player herself offered a more direct description of her identity on the field.
“I give everything in every match. I am a warrior, and I am convinced that I will give my all for this shirt.”
A partnership entering its eighth season
Henar Muiña’s official presentation took place at Toyota Canarias’ facilities and coincided with the delivery of the vehicles the company will provide to the club during the 2026/27 season.
Toyota and the club are now entering their eighth consecutive season together. The new fleet consists of ten vehicles: six Aygo X Cross Hybrid models, two Yaris, one Proace City Verso and one Proace Verso. They will help the players and coaching staff travel around the island.
José Luis Méndez, Toyota Canarias’ business development director, spoke during the event about the values shared by the company and the Tenerife project.
“If anyone embodies the values of women’s football — talent, effort, teamwork and respect for others — it is this club. For us, it is a privilege to be part of this project for another year,” he said.
The continuation of the agreement allows Costa Adeje Tenerife to maintain one of their longest-running commercial partnerships while continuing to build their squad for the new season.
After completing the medical examinations that precede the start of pre-season, Henar will join the squad fully under Yerai Martín. Costa Adeje Tenerife hope their new signing can become one of the key figures in a midfield to which she brings work rate, organisation and authority.
The midfielder is already looking forward to meeting supporters she has previously faced as an opponent.
“I am really looking forward to meeting the fans. Whenever I have played here as an opponent, I have always been impressed by the people who go to the Heliodoro to watch the team. We are going to give everything this season to bring them plenty of joy.”
