Costa Adeje Tenerife have announced the signing of Marina Martí as they strengthen their attack ahead of the 2026/27 season. The 29-year-old arrives from Valencia, having just helped the club secure promotion to Liga F, and becomes the third addition to Tenerife’s squad after Natalia Padilla and Ari Mingueza. The club’s announcement does not specify the length of her contract.
Martí will be back in the top flight next season after spending the 2025/26 campaign in Primera Federación. She was one of four Valencia captains who remained at the club following their relegation in 2024/25, alongside Pauleta Sancho, Yasmin Mrabet and Sara Tamarit, and was part of the side that regained its Liga F place a year later.
Mikel Crespo’s team finished third in the regular season with 46 points from 26 matches and were required to go through the play-offs. They overcame Alba Fundación in the semi-finals before advancing past Villarreal in the decisive tie. The second leg at the Antonio Puchades remained level at 1-1 after 120 minutes, allowing Valencia to secure promotion because of their higher position in the regular-season table.
Decisive in the semi-final
Marina Martí played a decisive role in the second leg of the semi-final against Alba Fundación. She assisted Danielle Marcano for the opening goal before scoring Valencia’s second just four minutes later. The Valencian side eventually won 4-3 after the first leg had ended goalless.
She also started the second leg of the final against Villarreal. Martí played until the 92nd minute of a match in which Valencia had to wait until the ninth minute of stoppage time for Leyre Monente to equalise and force extra time, which ended without any further goals.
Her move to Tenerife brings an end to a three-season spell with Valencia. The forward joined the club in the summer of 2023 and played the 2023/24 and 2024/25 campaigns in Liga F before competing in Primera Federación in 2025/26. In total, she made 82 appearances for Valencia — 78 in the league and four in the Copa de la Reina — and scored 11 goals. Her contract with the club is due to expire on 30 June.
In her most recent top-flight campaign, 2024/25, Martí appeared in all 30 league matches, played 2,053 minutes and recorded six goals and one assist. A year earlier, she made 26 appearances, scoring twice and providing three assists. Her overall record in the Spanish top flight stands at 95 appearances and 27 goals.
Added depth for Tenerife’s attack
Martí can operate as a central forward or from the flanks. Tenerife have highlighted her speed, ability to attack space and intensity when pressing, as well as the threat she provides from wide areas. Sporting director Jordi Torres believes her arrival will help the team retain one of its main attacking characteristics.
“Her ability to provide penetration from wide areas, create dangerous situations and deliver quality crosses will be key to helping our forwards continue to improve their goalscoring output,” Torres said.
Born in Albacete on 24 August 1996, Martí began her career with Fundación Albacete before spells at Sporting de Huelva and Sporting Plaza de Argel. She joined Alhama in 2018 and, during five seasons with the Murcian club, served as captain, helped the team achieve two promotions and registered 140 appearances and 55 goals. Those figures made her Alhama’s record appearance holder and all-time leading scorer when she left for Valencia in 2023.
The forward now joins a Costa Adeje Tenerife side that finished fourth in Liga F last season with 54 points. Yerai Martín’s team scored 49 goals and conceded only 22, giving them the third-best defensive record in the competition.
Tenerife have therefore added a player with extensive top-flight experience and a recent promotion campaign behind her. After helping Valencia regain their place in Liga F at the first attempt, Marina Martí will continue in the top flight with one of last season’s top-four sides.
